The site area — 220 ha — and the highest plant capacity among similar facilities testify to the project’s scale and significance.

According to the Energy Construction Division of JSV “Belzarubezhstroy”, “annual energy generation will be 133 thousand MWh, which is almost twice the capacity of Rechitsa solar power plant (Gomel Region) — currently the biggest Belarusian PV plant”.

There are 31 solar power plants in Belarus with a total capacity of 41 MW. According to the national Energy Efficiency Program, the total solar power generation in the country will reach 250 MW by 2020. For reference, the world’s largest solar power plant — Topaz Solar Farm (California, USA) — has 550 MW capacity.
