Results of the “Best Construction Product of the Year 2018” contest: JSV Belzarubezhstroy takes five awards

83 companies took part in the 15^th anniversary “Best Construction Product of the Year 2018” contest and presented over 100 of their products to the jury. 63 companies with 86 products qualified for the final. Five of them — presented by JSV Belzarubezhstroy – were given Honorary Diplomas of the Winner.

This year our company participated in the contest in the “Best Construction and Installation Contractor” category. We competed against such well-known companies as CUE Brestzhilstroy, Mozyr Integrated Home-Building Factory JSC, Public Enterprise Vitebsk Integrated Home-Building Factory, JSC “Construction Trust No. 3 awarded the Order of the October Revolution”, MAPID JSC and others.

By decision of the contest expert jury, all 5 products of JSV Belzarubezhstroy were awarded Honorary Diplomas of the Winner for the construction and installation works on the project “Construction of Local Fuel-fired Mini-CHP Plant at Boiler House at 10 Surkov st., Kalinkovichi”.



The contest was held with support of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus.

Deputy Minister of Architecture and Construction and Chairman of the contest supervisory board Dmitry Semenkevich (on the photo below) gave a welcome address for the finalists.



He also presented the diplomas to the Deputy General Director Dmitry Basko (on the right) who was representing JSV Belzarubezhstroy.

Mr. Basko, in his turn, thanked the contest organizers “for the positive appraisal of our work in the context of intense competition with the reputable construction companies” and  expressed his hope that “the awards would give momentum to the operations of JSV Belzarubezhstroy, expand the company’s professional horizons, and  would spur it to move forward”…

In conclusion it should be mentioned that the award ceremony was held at the old Vankovich Manor in Stepyanka, in the corresponding XVII century setting, with a cake, cocktail reception and light & music show. Please see our photo report after the background information about the contest.

NOTE: The majority of the contestants are Belarusian companies. Foreign countries were represented by Grundfos (pump manufacturer, Denmark), Coswick Hardwood Flooring (Belarus-Canada joint venture) and Beijing Uni-Bel Construction Group (China).

Region-wise the majority of the contestants in 2018 were from Minsk region (40%). Over 80% of the companies have participated in the contest in previous years, and 20% were competing for the first time. Among the first-timers were: Beijing Uni-Bel Construction Group, Mogilev Steel Works JSC, JSC “Construction Trust No. 3” (represented by Construction Department 55, Construction Department 137, Construction Department 149, Electrical Construction Department, Construction and Assembly Department), SvetlogorskKhimvolokno OJSC, PromPanelStroy, ZapadElectroSetStroy JSC and others.

As expected, the majority of the participants were construction materials manufacturers – 60%.

At the same time, this year there was a dramatic increase in the number of contestants who presented their construction and installation services (21%). They come from all regions of Belarus: JSV Belzarubezhstroy, CUE Brestzhilstroy, Mozyr Integrated Home-Building Factory JSC, Public Enterprise Vitebsk Integrated Home-Building Factory, JSC “Construction Trust No. 3 awarded the Order of the October Revolution”, MAPID JSC and others.

The third most popular category was “Best Building Structure of the Year” (8%).

Most of the contestants presented only one product. However there were some record-breakers. The most active companies: Construction Trust No.3 – 6 entries, JSV Belzarubezhstroy and Krasnoselskstroymaterialy with branches – 5 entries each, Domanovsky Integrated Production and Commercial Center - 3 entries, Zabudova JSC – 3 entries, Hilti BY – 3 entries, Prommetizizdeliya – 2 entries, Targam M – 2 entries, Ruchayka – 2 entries, Ondulin – 2 entries, Coswick – 2 entries, EcoPromPanel – 2 entries, etc.

The products presented at the contest have various applications. These are aggregates (Portland cement, crushed stone), concrete and reinforced concrete elements, walling and finishing materials (bricks, masonry blocks, ceramic tiles, paints and varnishes), steel structures, plumbing fixtures, concrete additives etc.

The contest entries were divided in eight categories: construction materials and products; construction technologies and solutions; equipment, instruments and tools; vehicles and machinery; engineering systems; construction and installation works; chemical materials and components for production; buildings and structures.
