“Belzarubezhstroy” is feeling the sting of the global economic crisis. However the company is actively exploring new markets and building its business in the existing ones.

Venezuela remains the main site for the Company specializing in the export of Belarusian construction services. Alexander Falevich, First Deputy General Director of “Belzarubezhstroy”, has told “Ezhednevnik” that so far more than six thousand apartments have been completed and commissioned in the Bolivarian Republic and just as many are currently under construction, moreover the contract for construction of another seven thousand of apartments has been signed.

Mikhail Gursky, Head of Certification Department of “Belzarubezhstroy”, is evaluating positively the work in Venezuela. According to him, these projects helped to gain more experience and build an organization which is now able to run its operations in any country of the world.

Ecuador is another market where the Company is providing its construction services. Currently “Belzarubezhstroy” is providing engineering supervision of the construction of power transmission lines. Obviously, the Company is satisfied with this new market as it is discussing several more projects. As part of the projects preparation, the Company’s representatives have recently had a meeting with the Ambassador of Ecuador Carlos Larrea. “Belzarubezhstroy” is expecting to receive the contracts for construction of more than 100 schools as well as roads and a diesel engine plant, Alexander Falevich explained.

“We are working to expand our presence in Latin America – our Director General is having meetings in Colombia. We are starting negotiations on the construction projects in Peru“, - Alexander Falevich told us. Therefore Latin America remains the major destination for the Company.

At the same time, “Belzarubezhstroy” is participating in a joint venture in Saudi Arabia. It is currently completing all the formalities which will enable it to participate in tenders.

According to Alexander Falevich, the Company is now ready to undertake various projects. “We are capable of handling a wide range of construction projects, as it can be seen from our operations in Venezuela. We have built several plants there which have been operating successfully for a few years already, as well as public facilities, such as schools, churches, medical clinics and police departments. We are building an agricultural town there”, - he told us.

By entering new markets the Company has been able to keep its production volumes in 2015 on the same level as in 2013-2014. Alexander Falevich is hoping that the Company will manage to keep this performance in the coming year as well. “Unfortunately, the negative tendencies in the global economy affect our work too, but we look to the future with confidence, and I believe we have good perspectives, - he said. – If we stay on the same level in 2016, we will consider this a successful performance”.
